Krista is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in both clinical and administrative capacities.

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner and medical director, Krista brings a wealth of expertise from her diverse medical background. At Flint Cooper, she integrates her dedication to patient care to the legal community. Her commitment to enhancing lives is evident in every aspect of her career.

A native of Benton, Kentucky, Krista is the daughter of Mayor Rita Dotson and Doug Dotson. She graduated from Marshall County High School and pursued higher education at the University of Kentucky. Excelling academically, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Kentucky College of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Her commitment to education continued as she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the same institution, once again graduating summa cum laude.

Krista’s professional journey began as an oncology nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and a psychiatric nurse at Eastern State Hospital in Lexington. She then dedicated seven years to a public health role with the University of Kentucky College of Nursing, providing essential care in underserved school clinics and homeless shelters. For the past nine years, she practiced as a family nurse practitioner at Baptist Health Paducah Urgent Care, where her medical expertise and compassionate care have made a significant impact.

Beyond her professional achievements, Krista is an active member of the Paducah community. She volunteers extensively within the St. Mary School System, serving on the school board and chairing the largest biannual fundraiser. Her leadership extends to various community organizations, including her historic role as the first female president of the Country Club of Paducah. Most recently, Krista was honored with the appointment to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 2nd Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky by Governor Andy Beshear.
